October is a time where change is apparent in North Dakota. Many mourn the loss of warmth and the summer sun, however, if you're like me there is anticipation with every season change because each season brings its own beauty. This has bought an opportunity for reflection regarding the "seasons" of my own life. In April 1984, I stood looking. We hadn't spoken to each other or breathed the same air, but I knew her. My mom really knew her, and that is how I knew her. Marie was her name and she was tiny. She was only 20 weeks gestation. She laid in her casket, still and silent. She was loved beyond measure, and in her true home, within the arms of Jesus. My mom was shattered, my dad was heartbroken. I was only 15 months old, but I can remember what she looked like and I can remember being at her funeral.... Full story
