Progress at the water plant has been evident the past couple of weeks, with concrete mixer trucks, scrapers, diggers and other equipment on site. The county’s road crew will once again drive John Deere green for the next five years. The County Commission voted Tuesday to accept the bid for three new motor graders from RDO Equipment. The upfront sticker price is $288,300 per blade, but the county will actually pay $186,075 after RDO buys back the current blades for $172,900 each. Firemen were called to a house fire on Second Avenue North in New Rockford shortly after midnight on Tuesday, May 11. Homeowner Nathan Rue and his fiancé Jennifer Jacobson were awakened by their dogs, as smoke from the fire in the attached garage filled their upstairs bedroom. The Community Ambulance Service of New Rockford has provided emergency medical services to the community for 50 years. A total of 1,274 vaccine doses had been administered in Eddy County through public health as of April 20, with only 200 of those doses administered in the past few weeks.
