    The 2019 NR-S golf season started in March with three girls and 10 boys in the gym hitting golf balls into nets and pitching balls in small nets. This went on for about three weeks before they were able to go outside and get some practice in on the driving range.     For the third year in a row, NR-S junior Benjamin Schaefer has made it back to the High School State Golf Tournament, to be held in Jamestown this year. Schaefer’s season started off a little “up and down,” but once May hit he really turned it on. Ben competes in the toughest region in the state, and that makes him better for it.   • Boys golf team opens season by hosting home meet

    On April 22 New Rockford-Sheyenne hosted its first high school golf meet for many years. There were eight teams, including NR-S, from Region 2 competing in the golf meet. The total number of golfers competing from the eight schools numbered 44. It was a great day weather-wise for the boys and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
