    Boilers and bus drivers were the hot topics of conversation when the New Rockford-Sheyenne Board of Education met via Zoom on Monday, August 9.     On Monday, July 19, the New Rockford-Sheyenne School Board of Education met via Zoom. As July is typically the reorganization meeting for the school board, election of officers was held. Mary Kay Price, who has represented the former New Rockford district on the board since 2015, was elected as the new president.     New Rockford-Sheyenne Board of Education met in the school cafeteria on Monday, April 12, the second in-person meeting they’ve held since the pandemic began.     Thursday is ESports game day! On March 18 New Rockford-Sheyenne took on the 'Spectral Spears' out of Alabama. Alex Harrison, Stephen Merrick and Wyatt Dockter, of team 'Phantoms' crushed them!     New Rockford-Sheyenne School's newest sporting team Esports, is off to a stellar start. Currently, there are 13 students in grades 8-12 competing weekly in an online game called Rocket League. What is Rocket League? Think of soccer with vehicles. Students play in teams of three. Each player has their own vehicle.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne School Board met in person on Monday, March 8. It has been one year of Zoom meetings thanks to COVID-19. After financial reports from all departments, a discussion regarding work done to the Rocket activity bus ensued. To keep our children safe, over $10,000 in repair work to the front end of the bus was completed. This price tag included a new windshield, a couple new windows and a water pump.     The second annual Roger Wick Memorial Pinochle Tournament was graciously hosted at Buck-It's Bar on Friday, Feb. 19. Twenty-eight Pinochle players came out to escape the winter doldrums and play this trick-taking card game, enjoy some Midnight Munchies and indulge in libations.
