    Posted June 5, 2020 On Wednesday, June 10, there will be a FREE community testing event for COVID-19, organized by Lake Region District Health Unit. Anyone 18 years of age and older interested in participating should arrive at the Eddy County Fairgrounds between 3 and 6 pm. Enter the fairgrounds from the west gate.     The National Bison Association (NBA) made a stop in New Rockford during its summer convention July 7-10. The convention opened Sunday, and there were many events and activities for the 200 attendees to participate in and learn from, including a tour of the North Dakota Heritage Center and history of bison in North Dakota with Dr. Ken Throlson, David Lautt and Doug Woodall.     Over the years the St. Aloisius Medical Center, located in Harvey, N.D., has been renovated, expanded and replaced as the population in the area grew and its needs for healthcare increased. St. Aloisius opened in 1938, after being purchased by the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation, a Roman Catholic religious women's community, from the Lutheran Good Samaritan Hospital.     Gaming in New Rockford just became a little more fun. On Aug. 30, Buck-Its Bar and Lodge installed the first two electronic pull tab machines in New Rockford, allowing customers to sit in comfort and enjoy the newest form of charitable gaming in the state.
