    Are you willing to risk your health just to have straight hair? In 2022 a study was released that links the use of specific hair straightening chemicals to an increased risk of uterine cancer.     On Tuesday, July 21 the Pink Sox headed to Devils Lake to avenge their Ponytail League champion status from 2019. They had a bye in the first round, and took on Devils Lake 2 in the semifinal round after recording just three losses in the entire season. At the mound for the Pink Sox was Lora Wobbema.     Eddy County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Bittmann visited the school this April to talk about bullying. By the time he left, he had inspired a group of third graders (Karsyn Wetzel, Olivia Larson, Lily Whitley, Emmie Belquist and Jocee Lawrence) to start The Kindness Club. Since then about 15 more students have joined to help stop bullying. The Kindness Club was started by these girls mostly because of the amount of bullying that goes on.
