    After years of service to the community, Dennis Nybo has submitted his resignation as New Rockford's Park District Director – a position he's held since 2018.   • County budget approved with tax increase

    On Tuesday, Oct. 3, Eddy County commissioners approved the county’s final 2024 budget, which reflects a 4 percent increase compared to 2023. The county will levy 101.78 mills, up from 97.62 mills last year. The increase largely stems from the number of mills assessed for capital projects, which was approved at 5.50 for 2023, and has been increased to 10 mills for 2024.     On Saturday, Sept. 30, the NR-S Cross Country team were among more than 2,000 runners competing at the Grand Forks' Border Battle. This year was only the second-ever "Border Battle" at Grand Forks, but it's quickly becoming the most attended cross country event in the region.
