Shannon Brandt has pleaded guilty to running over and killing 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson last year. At a hearing on Thursday, May 18, Brandt entered a plea of guilty to manslaughter, a Class B felony which carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. On Friday evening, May 26, multiple residents reported a pair of explosions emanating from the south end of New Rockford. Minutes later, emergency responders were on the scene as black smoke billowed into the air. The postcard was written by an individual named Anton Peterson, and sent to a Mr. James Olley in the state of Montana. On Tuesday, May 16, New Rockford-Sheyenne golfers traveled to Mapleton for their first individual state qualifier. Not all would go to plan for the Rockets, however. On Tuesday, May 9, a dive crew from Montana arrived in New Rockford for spring cleaning at the city's water treatment plant.
