LaVonne (Hungness) Aspley passed away May 12. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mabel Hungness of Sheyenne and a member of the Sheyenne High School Class of 1953. She had lived in Chanhassen, Minn. Sympathy is extended to her brother Paul Hungness of New Rockford. One afternoon last week, Shirley Westby, Bonnie Deegan and Jan Loe enjoyed a social distancing visit over coffee. Tuesday, Feb. 25, Denise Labrensz took a day of vacation to spend the afternoon at the Sheyenne Senior Center and enjoy a game of Mexican Train. Jan Loe returned home on Saturday after a week-and-a-half visit at the home of her brother Jerry and Susan Woodrow in Winter Haven, Fla. After deplaning in Grand Forks, Jan joined Brian and Pam Hill (Jan's niece) for brunch at a local restaurant. Last Tuesday, Jan Loe kept an appointment in Devils Lake. Later, she and May Fleisher enjoyed a visit over brunch. It was another successful First Lutheran Fall Dinner on Sunday with many community and surrounding area attendees enjoying the delicious turkey and all the trimmings dinner held at Ostby Hall.
