    On Sunday, Jan. 12, the Knights of Columbus Local Council #2477 sponsored the 35th annual free throw competition at the New Rockford-Sheyenne School gymnasium. Of the 31 participants, five girls and five boys ages 9 to 13, from New Rockford-Sheyenne School were named local champions. All youngsters ages 9 to 14 were eligible to participate.     New Rockford-Sheyenne played well overall for four quarters, as the locals defeated Rolla, by a final score of 68-46, in non-district girls basketball action, played here on Friday, Jan. 10. The Rockets had a big first half and it was just too much for the Bulldogs to overcome. Rolla had some trouble handling the locals defensive pressure. Morgan Leas paced Rolla with a 27 points.
