In the late evening hours of Thursday, Jan. 26, a security camera at Route 281 in Sheyenne caught a man breaking into a storage container and rummaging through nearby vehicles. The Eddy County Spelling Bee brought 12 great spellers to the Eddy County Courthouse on Wednesday, Feb. 8. After written and oral rounds of spelling competition, Sophie Skogen was named the champion of the 2023 county contest. Austin Weisenburger was runner-up. Eddy County is again on the lookout for a new NDSU Extension Agent. The Jamestown Drag Racing Association (JDRA) is trying once again to bring drag racing to Eddy County. Mike Trautman, president of the JDRA, appeared in person at the Eddy County Commission's regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 8, to discuss holding a drag race on County Road 12, a.k.a. On Tuesday, Feb. 7, Melanie Quinton presented New Rockford Theatre Manager, Glenda Collier, with a $700 check following a kid's movie night fundraiser at the Brown Memorial. Both Quinton and Collier said they were grateful for all those that made the fundraiser possible, and Quinton said she'll be trying to put on even more fundraisers at the Brown Memorial within the next month or two.
