    The annual junior bowling city tournament was held at Wonder Lanes Bowling Alley. Nineteen junior bowlers took part in the event and all of the winners received trophies for their accomplishments a The winners are as follows: Zach Dockter and Dashyl Bichler took first place in doubles with a score of 1353.     Four Winds- Minnewaukan defeated the Rockets by a final score of 60-45 in the Championship of the District 7 Boys Basketball Tournament played at Devils Lake before a pretty good crowd on Monday, March 2.     Most of the first quarter was close but the Rockets took control from there as the locals defeated Harvey-Wells County, by a final score of 86-56 in first-round action, of the District 7 boys basketball tournament, played at Devils Lake on Friday, Feb. 28. A basket by Hunter Thompson put the locals up 10-0 with 5:50 left in the first. A hoop by Jackson Fike cut the lead to 16-9 with 2:05 to go.     The first half was quite close but New Rockford-Sheyenne picked it up defensively, in the second half as the locals cruised to a 66-37 win over Benson County in semifinal round action of the District 7 Boys Basketball Tournament played at Devils Lake, on Feb. 29. Benson County was the number two seed coming into this tourney and early last month they defeated the locals by two points.     On Feb. 28-29, Rocket archers played host to the second ever National Archery in the Schools Program Tournament at NR-S. Archers represented NR-S well, and demonstrated the skills they have gained. NR-S archers secured the top prize in both high school divisions.     Five students from New Rockford- Sheyenne School participated in the Region #6 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest held in Valley City on March 1. Doug Burgum declared a state of emergency on Friday for North Dakota in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) public health crisis and issued guidance to K-12 schools with Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler and State Health Officer Mylynn Tufte.
