    Sarah Smith Warren of New Rockford began a six-year stint on the board of directors for Prairie Public Broadcasting in January 2016.     Nine-year-old Jacob Sogge of New Rockford was recently diagnosed with a Type 2 Chiari malformation. His father, Wayne Sogge, says the condition is a growth or protrusion from the cerebellum down to the top part of his neck. Although it is a condition that he has likely had since birth, the growth has gotten longer and wider and is cutting off the fluid to his brain.     As a follow-up to the stories the New Rockford Transcript has run on the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center (LEC) and the temporary closure order that had been ordered by the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (NDDOCR), staff reached out to Administrator Rob Johnson last week for an update.     A nationwide citizen science network is looking for volunteers for rain and snow reporting in N. D. These observers will measure rainfall, snowfall and snow depth as part of the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow (CoCoRaHS) Network.
