Jacob T. Stein of Minot was recently sentenced to five years in federal prison for a string of bank robberies in 2019. He was also ordered to serve three years supervised release, and pay $101,420 in restitution for his crimes. Stein’s alleged accomplice, Collin M. Grosz, recently entered a plea and will be sentenced later this year. The two men were arraigned in federal court on Sept. 28, 2020. The New Rockford swimming pool opened on Thursday, June 3, and locals were eager to take a dip in the cool water. Jax Demester was one of many kids enjoying a break from the heat Wednsesday, diving off the board. St. John’s Catholic Church in New Rockford hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on Thursday, May 27, which collected a total of 43 units of blood products for patients in need. A total of 49 individuals volunteered to donate blood, and 40 individuals were able to donate at the Vitalant blood drive on May 27.
