  • Measure One to fight corruption

    LLoyd Omdahl|Oct 1, 2018

As though North Dakota doesn’t have a large enough choice of mind-altering addictions, Measure No. 3 on the general election ballot will ask the voters to approve unfettered use of marijuana for general consumption. This “recreational” drug is used to intentionally change the user’s state of mind in a way that modifies emotions, perceptions and feelings. It creates a real happy world which is not real or happy. An escape from reality. There are many good reasons for voting “No” on Measure No....

Previously said in other editions of the President’s Point, there are three sides to any coin or any issue. MThere is the head side being one person’s point of...

  • Letter to the Editor: Vote Yes on Measure 3

    Oct 1, 2018

As parents and grandparents, we want our children to be safe from harm. We do not want them to use alcohol, tobacco or marijuana. However, we are not naive; we know that some of our children will make bad choices. Tobacco and alcohol are manufactured and sold by ethical businesses who must meet certain standards before they can be offered to the public. Prohibited products like marijuana are not subject to those same standards therefore, our children are at risk for death, imprisonment or impaired bodies and minds.  Imagine your grandmother, 8...

A non-partisan ethics commission will investigate ethics complaints, set ethic rules and provide ethics training programs. This measure will prohibit ele...

  • Sermonette: October 1, 2018

Rev. Randy Hahne, Bethel Assembly of God|Oct 1, 2018

“Future Grace” When we think about our future and what possible trials could come our way, we tend to focus on our inadequacies. For example, when we think about something tragic happening to our family we often say, “There is no way I could go through that!” Thinking this way is quite natural because until we actually do face impossible circumstances we really do not know how we are going to respond. As we think about future trials, we become aware of how human we are and the limitations of our flesh. However, there is something true that re...

  • Living on Purpose: Unity is beautiful but very rare indeed

    Dr. Billy Holland|Oct 1, 2018

Have you noticed lately that conflict and disagreement are more abundant than unity? Though the average person would give peace as the answer to what they would like to have more of, we are bombarded with an environment that is filled with arguing, strife and criticism. It seems that some people actually enjoy fighting and bickering as a challenge to see how many disputes and quarrels they can instigate and win. Wouldn’t the world be such a happier place if we could all just get along and try t...
