A single vehicle train crash on Tuesday night left a local man dead. Kurt Anderson, 49, of Sheyenne, was killed Tuesday night, Oct. 16 at 11:13 p.m. He was struck by an eastbound BNSF train at the crossing on 61st Ave NE, a paved road west of New Rockford in Munster Township near the former Munster Schoolhouse. Anderson’s vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, was struck on the driver side. Anderson died at the scene. Neighbors say authorities remained on scene throughout the night. The New Rockford-Sheyenne School Music Department will present its Fall Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the NR-S Gymnasium.
