    The New Rockford Rockets varsity football team went undefeated this season, that is until the Saturday, Oct. 27 game. The Rockets had opportunities and played their hearts out, but Thompson defeated them by a final score of 32-28 in the quarterfinal round of the North Dakota 9-man football playoffs.     New Rockford-Sheyenne finished out their regular season play on a high note this past week, logging two home wins against regional opponents and earning the #3 seed in Super Region 4. First, NR-S hosted Rolla on Thursday, Oct. 25. The Rockets played five hard fought sets with lots of long volleys to end up in the win column.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne girls cross country team competed in their final meet of the season on Saturday, Oct. 27 when they headed to Jamestown for the state contest. All runners competed in the 5K. Elizabeth Widmer led the Rockets with a 69th place finish overall and a time of 22 minutes 14 seconds. She is the only senior the Rockets will lose to graduation.
