On this date in 1931 when a mob seized a prisoner named Charles Bannon and lynched him a half mile from the jail.     On May 28, 1901, Gilbert, the nine-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole G. Golson, was ruled insane by the Eddy County Insanity Board and taken to the asylum in Jamestown.
