Rockets defeat Panthers at Holiday Hoops

The locals trailed for most of the first 3 quarters but picked it up on both ends of the court in the fourth. 

 New Rockford-Sheyenne defeated Norman County West out of Halstad, MN by a final score of 54 -50 in Boys Basketball action of the Hillsboro Holiday Hoops played at Buxton on Friday, December 29.

 The game at times was quite physical. NCW led 14-10 after one stanza it was tied at 26-26 at halftime, 39-30 Panthers after three but the locals came away with a 24 -11 advantage in the fourth and the Rockets won by a final of 54-50.

 Teddy Allmaras paced the locals with a game high 17 points. Bo Belquist added 11. Verdis Barber led the Panthers with 15 points. Austin Carlson added 10.

 The Rockets made 22 field goals, 7 of 12 free throws, commited 14 fouls and had 15 turnovers. The Panthers made 22 field goals, 6 of 11 free throws, commited 13 fouls and had 18 turnovers.

 New Rockford- Sheyenne is now 2-4 overall.

 Friday January 12 the locals go to McVille, game one is set for 4:30 pm Saturday January 13th, the locals play May-Port -CG at Devils Lake.
