New Rockford-Sheyenne was well represented at the NASP Bullseye Archery Tournament in Cooperstown on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Thirty-five archers shot six rounds of bullseye competition worth a total of 300 possible points (30 arrows each worth up to 10 points), and many logged career high scores at the meet. This was the second tournament of the season for the team.
The team finished fifth out of seven teams and had six top 10 finishers in their respective divisions. The overall top finisher for the Rockets was eighth grader Macey Wobbema, who had a score of 257 with 10 tens, or bulleyes. Sixth grader Keaton Cudworth was right behind with a score of 256. Below is a breakdown of the top 10 finishers.
High School Division
Boys: Robert Abell placed 7th with a 254 and eight tens.
Girls: Klara Marxen finished seventh among the high school girls with a 244, including four tens; Hayleigh Clapper finished eighth with a 237 and six tens; Lexi Anderson was ninth with a 233 and three tens.
Middle School
Girls: Macey Wobbema ended in fifth place with a 257 and 10 tens; Kyria Dockter shot a 249 and seven tens, good for seventh place overall.
