Bismarck man arrested

Thousands of dollars in allegedly stolen property seized by Eddy County authorities

On Sunday, Feb. 11, the Eddy County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle traveling through New Rockford.

The driver, Clarence Dubois (AKA Clarence Clauthier) of Bismarck, was arrested for outstanding warrants and driving under suspension.

Authorities conducted a search of Dubois' vehicle at the time of his arrest and seized what they believe to be stolen property. According to Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies, several thousands of dollars in rare coins, jewelry and electronics were recovered.

The case is under investigation by the Eddy County Sheriff's Office, and additional charges are expected. They are also seeking to identify the owner(s) of the property.

Dubois is currently held at the Lake Region Correctional Center in Devils Lake. Bail was set at $500 cash or surety bond at a bond hearing on Feb. 13.

Dubois also has a Pierce County warrant out for his arrest, and he in is due to make his initial appearance in Southeast District Court in New Rockford on March 15.
