Miss North Dakota to speak at NR-S School for Reading Week

2017 Miss North Dakota, Lizzie Jensen, will be speaking at New Rockford-Sheyenne School on Monday, March 5. She will address elementary students at 9:00 a.m. and senior high students at 10:00 a.m.

Jensen assumed the role of Miss North Dakota when Cara Mund was the first from North Dakota to be crowned Miss America this past September. Jensen's message, I Am More, promotes anti-bullying and self-worth. As of January 24, she had delivered her message to 32,421 students in North Dakota throughout the past four months. The public is welcome and invited to attend and hear her encouraging words.

The theme for the week is Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti! Media Specialist Katrina Whitley has planned a variety of fun activities to get students engaged in reading throughout the week.
