Last week: Jakob Schmid and his friend, Alison Widmer were home from NDSU.

Dave and Linda Madson attended the Community Concert Association presentation “Main Street Souvenirs” by Scott Kirby, pianist, composer, visual artist on Friday, Feb. 23. He played piano doing a variety of music and also his own compositions. Along with the music, he had a video showing his art work along with his photography showing different concepts about small town American life. It was a very interesting and entertaining concert.

Dave and Linda accompanied Melodie Watt and Kennedee and McKenzee Dugdale to Jamestown on Sunday. They were overnight guests of Shawn and Cathy Caulfield.

Kennedee kept a dental appointment Monday morning. Following some lunch and shopping, the group returned home Monday afternoon.

This week: Sunday, Tom Schmid met his parents, Howard and Helen Schmid who flew into Fargo from Mesa, Ariz. to attend the funeral for Helen’s brother-in-law, Kermit Thorson. The funeral was held in Carlton, Minn. Doug and Joe Schmid also attended the funeral.

Howard and Helen then returned to Mesa following the funeral.

Tom and Pam traveled to Grand Forks on Saturday. They met Jakob and Alison for lunch and returned home later that day.

Dave and Linda Madson went to Grand Forks on Saturday morning. Dave kept a medical appointment.

Tuesday, Lester and Jackie Roberts were in Minot on business.

Delno and Peggy Kindem of Grand Forks visited Lester and Jackie and enjoyed lunch together on Wednesday. Other Wednesday visitors were PeeWee Wetzel and Janice Ferry.

Lester visited James Nelson on Friday.

Roger Roberts visited Lester and Jackie on Saturday.

Lezlee Thorson and Bob Hoffart were Sunday visitors at the Roberts.

Doris Griffin attended Timely Topics meeting in Minnewaukan on Wednesday. The speaker was from Safe Alternatives for Abused Families.

Doris volunteered at the Fishtival celebration in Minnewaukan on Saturday.

Patty Hegland was at her daughter, Jill Zietz’s home in Horace to help her out while her husband, Mike was in Arizona on business. Emma, Rosa and Silas kept them busy. Patty was there Feb. 17-24. Jarvis joined the group on Friday afternoon.

Jarvis visited James Nelson Sunday afternoon.

Randy and Charlotte Simon left last Saturday to attend the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association conference in Nashville, Tenn.

Country singer Trace Adkins entertained at the conference. Leslie Stahl was also a presenter.

Some of the things the Simon’s enjoyed while in Nashville included going to the Country Music Hall of Fame; attending the Grand Old Opry; seeing a show at the Ryman Auditorium, which is where the Grand Old Opry was held before they got their own building; and finally, going to the Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash museum. Charlotte also went on a Nashville City Food Tour while Randy attended meetings.

The Simons returned home on Saturday.

This weekend, Jake, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper Hegland went to Gettysburg, S.D. to visit Amanda’s family.

Friday, the day was spent in Onida, S.D. visiting Fallyn and Piper’s great grandparents.

Nancy Weischedel, Amanda’s mother, celebrated her birthday on Saturday.
