New Dietary Manager named at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd

Melanie Elverud is the new Dietary Manager at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd. Melanie had applied and accepted a cook position, then later accepted the Dietary Manager position when it was open. Melanie has experience, and enjoys positions in management. She previously managed the Bar M Steakhouse in Mandan, had a bar/restaurant in Granville and also has experience in bookkeeping. Melanie said ordering the foods, working with menus and doing computer work is very easy for her, as she has previously experience with all of it.

Melanie and her husband Alan live on a farm by Leeds. She says even though she doesn't live in Eddy County, she does not mind the drive – in fact she finds it relaxing. Melanie grew up on a farm and ranch, and graduated from Granville. She and her husband enjoy horses, camping and the Minnesota Twins. They also raise blue and red heeler dogs. Melanie has a son who is an electrician; and a stepson who is an accountant.

Melanie said she likes working at LHGS – she likes the environment and says the work day goes very fast, as it is a positive place to work. She is also working on her Dietary Manager Certification through UND.
