Lawrence R. Sailer, 84, of Fargo, N.D., died on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo. Funeral and burial will be held on June 28 at 2 p.m. at the Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Elsbeth at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan on June 29.
Lawrence was born Stanton, N.D., to Jack and Lydia (Horning)
Sailer. Later his parents and their 16 children moved to Marion, N.D.
Lawrence was happily married to his wife, Elsbeth Alber, just shy of 60 years. Together they raised 7 children. Lawrence worked in Valley City and Fessenden. Later they moved to Fargo, where both he and his wife graduated from Moler Barber College. They opened Towne Barber Shop in Fargo in 1990. Lawrence worked there until retiring at the age of 80 years old.
Lawrence is survived by his children; Barbara (Brian) Kunda, Olympia, Wash.; Diane (Dale) Rosenberg, New Rockford, N.D.; Kathy Hovland, Fargo, N.D.; Kevin (Karen) Sailer, Huson, Mont.; Larry ( Danette) Sailer, Clovis, Calif.; Scott (Carmen) Sailer, Modesto, Calif.; and Jeff Sailer, West Fargo, N.D. Also five sisters: Mayda Mueller, Yvonne Kluever, Frances Zimmerman, Laura Anvik, Margie Schelske and three brothers: Clifford, Delmar and Marlyn Sailer.
He had 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife; parents, sisters Irene and Verna, and five brothers; Donald, Erhardt, Vern, Arnold and Armond Sailer.
