John and Janice Hager, Ginny Streifel and Colette Tufte enjoyed dinner at The View at Spirit Lake Casino on Thursday evening.

Lester Roberts was in New Rockford on business on Thursday. Thursday evening, Lester attended the annual elevator meeting and supper in Sheyenne.

Chad Getscher and Roger Roberts visited the Roberts’ on Saturday.

Todd Buehler visited James Nelson one day last week.

Jarvis Hegland visited James on Sunday.

Lee and Amy, Easton and Jaxon Simon are excited about the eight baby goats recently born.

Randy and Charlotte attended the Eagles Basketball Tournament in Devils Lake. The Maddock-Leeds boys took first place in the 4th grade division. Lee Simon is the coach and Easton and Jaxon were on the team. Congratulations to the team.

Linda Madson bowled with the Senior League from Devils Lake in Cando on Wednesday.

Sunday afternoon, Linda and great granddaughters, Kennedee and McKenzee attended the concert performed by the group from Finland, “Kardemimmit.” The concert was held at the Bethel Church in Devils Lake and sponsored by the Arts Council of the Lake Region, Devils Lake. The members of the group are Maija Pokela, Jutta Rahmel, Anna Wegelius, Leeni Wegelius and sound engineer, Samuli Volanto. The girls played the kantela, which is the national instrument of Finland. The sound is similar to a harp or dulcimer, but the kantela is not closely related to either. The group entertained at schools in Devils Lake on Friday.
