A half-day seminar will be held on Wednesday, May 9 to empower diabetes patients to become more informed and involved with their care. Registration is set for 8:30 – 9 a.m. followed by presentations from 9 to 11:15 am at the CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington, CMC West Conference Room, Carrington, N.D. Lunch for participants will be provided from 11:15 a.m. – noon.
Topics to be discussed during the seminar include “Meal Planning for Diabetes” presented by Brooke Fredrickson, RDN, LRD, CDE and “ABC’s of Diabetes” presented by Dr. Eric Johnson, UND School of Medicine and Altru Health System. Certified Diabetes Educator Brooke Fredrickson, RDN, LRD, CDE of CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington will also be available for questions.
Pre-registration is required; call Brooke Fredrickson at (701)652-7224 to register. Two hours of diabetes education will be billed to each participant’s insurance plan, and most insurances cover the service. If a pre-registered participant does not have coverage, they will be notified prior to the beginning of Diabetes Education Day.
