Lauren Roscoe was named Region 5 Speaker of the Year.
New Rockford-Sheyenne placed third in the Region 5 meet in Cooperstown on Saturday, April 14. All six team members qualified for the state competition in Mandan on Sat., April 29.
Jaden Gray placed second in Poetry and second in Dramatic Interpretation. Sandra Larson placed second in Radio. Cassidy Holth placed third in Dramatic Interpretation. Holth paired with Elizabeth Widmer and placed first for their Serious Duo. Widmer tied for third place for Extemporaneous Programmed Reading. Jared Hartl and Lauren Roscoe placed second for their Humorous Duo. Roscoe also placed second in Extemporaneous Speaking and was named the 2018 Region 5 Senior Speaker, which was voted on by all five regions.
