Full week of events planned around Fourth of July

The New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting information on any events and activities planned for this year’s Fourth of July celebrations in New Rockford and Sheyenne.

With the 4th of July falling on a Wednesday this year, organizations and businesses will have events throughout the entire week surrounding the holiday. From the rodeo in Sheyenne and street dance at the New Rockford Eagles on June 30 to the DPRCA production of “Forever Plaid” and street dance at Buck-its on July 7, there will be something for everyone this Independence Day week.

Residents and visitors should note that the parades in New Rockford and Sheyenne and the fireworks display in New Rockford will all be held on July 4.

The Chamber and the New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation will again create posters and event schedules, which will be available at local businesses, on Facebook, and on the City of New Rockford website. A full schedule will also be listed in the New Rockford Transcript and advertised in other regional media. There is no cost to have an event listed on these marketing materials.

This year, all events and activities from June 30 through July 7 are eligible for these free listings, including events charging admission. Class reunions are also encouraged to submit their information. When submitting an event, please include the date, time, location, sponsoring business or organization, contact information and any other details.

A current draft of the schedule will soon be available at http://www.cityofnewrockford.com and will be updated regularly as more events are registered.

Please submit event information by leaving a message on the Chamber voicemail at (701) 947-2211 or emailing [email protected]. The firm deadline to be included in the printed schedules, advertisements and fliers is Monday, June 11. Events submitted after this date will only be included on the website and mobile device listings.

Parade entries are also being accepted for the New Rockford parade, which will be held at 10 a.m. on the morning of July 4. Entry is free, so call Surety Title at (701) 947-2446 to register.
