Financial Literacy Month activities end with recognition of winning piggy banks

NDSU Extension Service partnered with local banks, credit unions and schools to provide a lesson to first grade students on earning, spending and saving during Financial Literacy Month. The goal was to teach positive money behaviors at an early age. As a part of the lesson, each student was provided with a piggy bank which they decorated for a "Piggy Bank Pageant" contest. The piggy banks were displayed at local financial institutions through the month of April, and patrons could vote for their favorite with pennies.

On May 2, Donna Anderson of NDSU Extension came to the school to award the winners in each classroom.
