The Sheyenne- New Rockford Black Sox high school baseball team played two varsity games in New Rockford on Friday, April 27. Both games counted in the Region 3 Standings.
Their first game was against Kidder County. The Wolves plated one run in the fourth inning. The locals came up with four runs in the fourth. Nick Presnell knocked in two runs on a single and Nathan Holzwarth brought in two more on a double.
The Wolves came up with one more in the fifth. The Black Sox added one more in the fifth. Teddy Allmaras led off with a triple. He scored on a two out single by Hunter Thompson, and the Black Sox came away with a 5-2 win. Bo Belquist pitched a very good overall game for the SNR Black Sox.

SNR: Belquist had eight strikeouts, Allmaras two for three, triple, Tucker Longnecker two for three, Hunter Thompson two for three, Nick Presnell two for three, double.
The Black Sox then played Carrington. The Cardinals came up with one run in the first inning, added five in the second and three more in the fourth. The Black Sox finally scored one run in the fifth. Nick Presnell drew a lead off walk and scored on an infield out by Bo Belquist. The Cardinals scored three more runs in the sixth. The locals added one more in the sixth, but that was it and the Cardinals won with a final score of 12-2 in six innings. Carrington is the team to beat in Region 3. Jayden Shipman pitched a good overall game for Carrington.

Carrington: Shipman had nice strikeouts and went two for five. Payton Smith two for four. Kyle Leapaldt three for five, triple Geiszler two for four, Drew Page two for three.
SNR is now 1-2 in Region 3 and 1-3 overall.
