The New Rockford Men's & Women's Bowling Association had their awards banquet at the New Rockford Eagles on the evening of Friday April 27, with 29 bowlers and sponsors in attendance.
League secretary Gail Roberts presented the women's Lucky League award. The winners of the league were the Nicolai Chiropractic team, with bowlers Laurie Johnston, Traci Harrington and Gail Roberts. They defeated the Terpening Construction team in a roll-off between the two half-season winners. The Terpening bowlers were Codi Olson, Lisa Ystaas and Vicky Ystaas.
High honors went to Arendt with a high game of 235 and 587 high series, Traci Harrington most improved average (14-pin increase) and Irmen had a 169 high average.
Bowlers with perfect attendance were Colleen Semmens, Becky Kjos, Vicky Ystaas and Serena Guler.
League secretary Trucker Roberts presented the men's Strikers League awards. The Bank Forward team won the first half season and Surety Title won the second half. A roll-off was conducted and the Surety Title team won the league championship. The Surety bowlers were Allmaras, Lane Koenig, Lynn Brost and Roberts. Bank Forward bowlers were Chance LaBrie, Alex Perleberg, Austin Langley, Hunter Wetzel and Shane Wallace.
High series honors went to Rob Schill with a 766, high game Gerald Schmidt 298, high average Roberts with a 216 and most improved average Simon Anderson with a 13-pin increase. Bowlers with perfect attendance were Jerome Pierce, Shane Wallace, Roberts, John Hitz and Kelly Stafford.
Wonder Lanes manager LeRoy Krueger presented the women's 500 Club clock trophy to this year's winner, Taylor Cook, and the men's 600 Club winner, Trucker Roberts. He also presented a plaque to Trucker Roberts for the 804 scratch series he bowled in the Mixed League (the second all-time Wonder Lanes high series) and a trophy for bowling his "actual" 300 game in the mixed 9-pin no-tap tournament.
After the awards presentation, Association President Ed O'Connor conducted the annual meeting. Association manager Trucker Roberts presented last year's minutes and treasurer's report.
An election was held. Wallace and Guler were re-elected as directors. Roberts was re-appointed association manager and Zander Anglebrandt was selected as the junior bowling representative.
The bowling season at Wonder Lanes has come to an end. There were 68 games with a score of 250 or higher, also one bowler gained a second all-time high series. Nine bowlers bowled a 700 series or better.
