I sent a package of fruit to my family in North Dakota. The first shipment arrived in due time. But then a saga developed that absolutely confirmed why the USPS is going down the tubes. According to the USPS tracking, this is the journey the package took: Apache Junction to Phoenix. Phoenix to West Fargo. West Fargo to Phoenix. Phoenix To Apache Junction. Apache Junction to Phoenix. Phoenix to Apache Junction. Apache Junction
to Phoenix. Phoenix to Apache Junction. Apache Junction to Fargo. WHAT.THE. ACTUAL. HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE POST OFFICE?
I retired from the USPS with 38 years of service, and I have never seen such an inept display in my entire career. In fact, the service my colleagues and I provided was always solid. What was once a source of pride and efficiency has turned in to a colossal embarrassment. Each person tends to blame the next--where does the buck stop? I know where it stops for me. I intend to send more packages to my family, but I can assure you that it will be with UPS. As far as I am concerned, the USPS will no longer have my business.
The package of fruit I sent took so many re-routes that it finally arrived--SPOILED. Thanks to the bottom feeders in charge of shipping, you have lost a loyal patron.
You guessed it. There is more to that story. On April 27, the oranges showed up again in Apache Junction. They were so rotten that our park manager couldn't take it without throwing up so she asked the park maintenance man to carry them out to the dumpster. He did all he could do to make it out there without barfing. This is our good postal service today. My wife ordered some medicine from the service drug in Harvey as we have many times. We were told we would or should receive it in three days. We waited for nine days and they hadn't shown up. We left there, and, they came the day we left. Our park manager forwarded them to our address in Harvey and they were there when we got home. You just cannot depend on our Postal Service today. From here on I am going to use UPS service. To me the Postal Service does not exist for packages or even letters for that matter.
