Midco Foundation awarded more than $97,000 in grants to 66 nonprofits, schools and government organizations throughout Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Two of those awards were made to local projects. First, Jamie Risovi wrote a grant on behalf of the New Rockford-Sheyenne School and received $1,000 for the archery program.
Second, Reed Weisenburger submitted an application on behalf of the New Rockford Park District, that organization also received $1,000 for elevated pitching mounds at the baseball diamond at North Park.
The Midco Foundation board reviews and approves funding requests to charitable entities twice a year. Since 1988, the Foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million to causes within its service area. Midco Foundation encourages nonprofit organizations in the communities it serves to apply for future grants for special projects, facility improvements, equipment and programs.
