The New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation (NRABC) is seeking input from community members as they develop a 3-5 year plan to direct the organization’s efforts.
The NRABC was established in 1991 to facilitate economic and community development for New Rockford and Eddy County. The last time a similar strategic planning process was undertaken was in 2006. Since then the City of New Rockford has seen more than $20 million in investment, and the population has stabilized at 1,400.
NRABC board members recently met to hold a visioning session, the first part of the strategic planning process. The next step is to engage with members of the business community. The NRABC will host two business roundtable discussions next week, and all business owners and principles are encouraged to attend.
The first session will be held in conjunction with the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce. The lunch meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at noon. Buck-its Bar will host the event and have lunch available for purchase. Please RSVP for this session by calling Amy Wobbema at 947-2417 by Friday, June 22.
An evening session will follow on Wednesday, June 27 at 7 p.m. Sarah Smith Warren will host the session at her new studio on Central Avenue, and refreshments will be provided.
Later this summer the NRABC will solicit input from community members via a survey and more public input meetings. Information collected through the survey and public meetings will be evaluated by NRABC members. Short and long-term goals will be developed, and projects will be prioritized. The resulting plan will guide NRABC’s work in the coming years.
Once the plan is written, the NRABC will communicate progress to the public through its annual report, which is delivered to the New Rockford City Commission and reported in the New Rockford Transcript.
