Voters headed to the polls Tuesday, June 12, to cast their ballots in local elections and for primary races within their county, district and state. Below are the unofficial results as posted on the North Dakota Secretary of State’s website as of Wednesday, June 13.
Local Elections
City and park board officials were elected on Tuesday, June 5. Terms for the newly elected begin July 1.
New Rockford City Commission

The death of DeVon Allmaras leaves a vacancy on the New Rockford City Commission. A decision about how to fill the vacancy will likely be made during the city commission’s reorganizational meeting on June 25.

In the City of Sheyenne, Robert Hanson defeated incumbent Richard Comer for mayor. Elvis Thumb was re-elected to a four-year term on the council, and Amy Benson was newly elected to her first term on the council. Arnold Nyhusmoen and David Rieger will fill two of the three empty seats on the Sheyenne Park Board. Unofficial vote totals were not available as of Thursday.

All candidates will be placed on the General Election ballot in November, at which time election will occur. New terms begin January 1, 2019.
