Fishing:
*Devils Lake elevation, June 19: 1,449.81 feet above mean sea level (MSL).
*Stump Lake elevation: 1,449.67 MSL.
*Lake Sakakawea elevation: 1,851.31 MSL; 44,000 cubic feet per second average (CFS) Garrison Dam daily releases.
*N.D. Game & Fish Dept. Dist. game wardens: Devils Lake producing nice walleye numbers especially on the west end around the Minnewaukan Flats. Clear Lake producing a few walleye but Antelope Lake slowed. Goose Lake improving for walleye. Red River slow for catfish with spawn underway. Try shallow areas out of current along structure, snags or edges along cut banks. Hit-and-miss success on bait choice so mix up frozen sucker chunks or shrimp for possibly the best success. No new reports but look for continued improving walleye success on the east end of Lake Sakakawea.
*Devils Lake, Ed’s Bait Shop, Devils Lake: Walleye slowed from shore with fair to good boat success. Try leeches or nightcrawlers with spinners and bottom bouncers in 10 to 15 feet but some anglers still pitching plastics or pulling crankbaits. Good white bass success along wind-blown shorelines. Pike remain good.
*Devils Lake, Lakeview Lodge, Minnewaukan: Mixed walleye success. Pelican Lake and back bays stained up with recent rains.
*Devils Lake, Woodland Resort, Devils Lake: Try 10 to 12 feet using spinners and bottom bouncers with nightcrawlers or leeches for walleye. Lots of activity around New Mil Bay. Pike remain good and aggressive. Work close to the surface for white bass.
*Foster County area lakes, Dry Dock, Carrington: Activity continues on area lakes with some anglers also heading to Devils Lake for walleye.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Pioneer Bait & Tackle, Jamestown: A lot of area anglers are heading to Devils Lake for walleye with some continued activity on area lakes.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: Lots of activity on area lakes with generally fair success.
*Lake Ashtabula, Ashtabula Crossing, Luverne: Some large bass starting to show up with increasing activity around the bridges and Crossing.
*Lake Ashtabula, Bayshore, Valley City: Walleye remain somewhat elusive but anglers continue finding fair bass success.
*Lake Sakakawea, Cenex Bait & Tackle, Garrison: Fair to good for walleye throughout much of the east end of Lake Sakakawea using a variety of presentations and bait. The key is to work in 8 to 10 feet in shallow, warm water. Move if there aren’t bites in about 20 minutes. Lake Audubon has fewer anglers but those going are still finding fair walleye success.
*Lake Sakakawea, Indian Hills Resort, Garrison: Improving walleye success around Pepsi Point and Medicine Stone. Continue working 14 feet with spinners and bottom bouncers and leeches or nightcrawlers. Minnows still producing occasional success.
*Lake Sakakawea/Lake Audubon/Missouri River, Scott’s Bait and Tackle, Pick City: Missouri River anglers continue finding walleye around the honey hole in the evening with jigs and minnows. Also try the Spillway Inlet and cable crossing from boats. Some success from shore or in the chutes from boats. Lake Sakakawea fair to good but a little inconsistent for walleye. Work shallow tossing jigs and minnows, leeches, or nightcrawlers in Douglas, deTrobriand or Steinke bays. Look for improving success from the south shore.
*Lonetree WMA area lakes, Harvey: No new reports.
*Pipestem Reservoir, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: Not many new reports but look for some crappie activity.
*Pipestem Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: Not many reports.
