Black Sox fall twice in doubleheader

New Rockford traveled to Carrington for an American Legion Baseball doubleheader on Friday, June 15. Game 1 counted in the section standings but not game 2.

Game One

The locals scored three runs. Bo Belquist led off with a double. Teddy Allmaras drew one out walk. Seth Soderholm doubled to left with two outs knocking in both runs. He scored on a single by Luke Ystaas. Carrington came up with five runs in the third, one in the

fourth, and six more in the fifth. Post 30 came up with the final run of the game in the sixth. Nathan Holzwarth drew a lead-off walk and eventually scored on an infield out and

Carrington won game 1 by a final of 12-4. The locals had their chances as they left 11 runners on base, but they played very poor in the field.

NR: Seth Soderholm 3 for 3, Belquist 2 for 3, Tyrus Smith, Luke Ystaas and Nathan Holzwarth each had one hit.

Game two

Post 30 scored four runs in the first. They took advantage of four walks and three errors in scoring those runs.  

Carrington came up two runs in the first, four in the second and four more in the third. New Rockford added five more in the fourth. They took advantage of three errors and one passed ball in scoring those runs. Post 25 scored one in the fourth.

The locals plated three runs in the fifth. One run was scored on an error and Hunter Thompson knocked in two runs on a double. Carrington scored two runs in the fifth and came away with a 13-12 win.
