New Rockford Post 30 sweeps Kidder County

New Rockford played host to Kidder County in non-section American Legion Baseball action played on Tuesday, June 26.

Game One

The locals scored one run in the second. Cole Myhre drew a one out walk. He scored with two outs, as Hunter Thompson singled to right and advanced to third on an error. New Rockford came up with three runs in the fourth. Seth Soderholm led off with a double to left. Thompson knocked in Soderholm on a single to left with two outs. Colter Soderholm came up next and doubled to left and Thompson scored. Colter Soderholm scored on a single by Nathan Holzwarth. The visitors scored three runs in the fifth.

Post 30 came up with four big runs in the fifth. Bo Belquist led off and reached base on two errors and a wild pitch. Tyrus Smith drew a walk and stole second. Teddy Allmaras singled to left and Belquist scored. Seth Soderholm knocked in Smith on a sacrifice fly. Thompson

knocked in another run on a single. The other run scored as a result of an error. Kidder

County scored two runs in the seventh but it was not enough and Post 30 came away with an 8-5 win. Allmaras and Myhre pitched well overall for the locals. All nine Post 30 players reached base at least once.

Game Two

New Rockford scored two runs in the first. Belquist led off with a single to left. Smith drew a walk. Seth Soderholm doubled to left and Belquist scored. Smith was thrown out at third. Myhre singled to right and Soderholm scored. Post 30 came up with five runs in the third. Soderholm led off and reached second base on an error. He scored with one out on a wild pitch. Thompson drew a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. Nick Presnell drew a two out walk. Holzwarth struck out, but reached base on an error. Belquist came up next and knocked in all runs on a triple, and scored on an error. The visitors scored one run in the fourth. New Rockford added another run in the fourth. Allmaras led off with a single. Soderholm drew a walk. Myhre reached base on a fielder's choice. Ystaas drew a two out walk. Presnell drew a bases loaded walk and Soderholm scored. New Rockford won game two, by a final score of 8-1. Myhre pitched a very good overall game for the locals. Post 30 is now, 7-6 overall.
