Recently, Dave and Linda Madson, Melodie Watt, Syl Brown and Tommy Schwab were guests for a barbecue at Michael and Amy Jacobson’s home in Devils Lake to help celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Last Friday evening, Mike and Becky Tefft of Kendrick, Idaho, Joni Duckworth of Gilby, Melodie Watt, Kennedee and McKenzee, Carrie Madson and Paul Prince, formerly of Oceanside, Calif., now of Oberon, were supper guests at Dave and Linda Madson’s home in Devils Lake. Mike and Becky were weekend guests at the Madson’s and Joni was a weekend guest at Melodie’s home.
Saturday, guests at the Madson’s were Kinley Poulsen of Cando, the Tefft’s, Joni, Mitchell, Elisha and Brinlee Poulsen, Stephen and Bralyn, Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee, Cathy Caulfield of Jamestown and Carrie. All enjoyed food, games and visiting. Linda, Joni, Becky and Kinley are first cousins.
Sunday, the group was joined by Kelly, Pam and Klaire VenHuizen of Cooperstown and Leah Poulsen and Tanner Nicholls. More food, games and lots of pictures and visiting continued.
Saturday, the guys helped put the furniture, washer and dryer and other items into Melodie’s new doublewide manufactured home. That was indeed a blessing. Now she needs to find where everything needs to find a home.
Tuesday evening, Carrie and Paul treated Dave and Linda to a belated Mother’s Day and Father’s Day supper in Devils Lake. Carrie and Paul are now living in Dave and Linda’s home near Oberon, where Paul hopes to establish his refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing and electrical business.
Last Sunday, Tom, Pam and Jakob Schmid attended the horse races in Belcourt.
Jakob and his friend, Alison Widmer went to South Heart and Medora and took in Rough Rider Days.
Sunday, Tom, Pam and JD along with Greg, Stacey and Brody Geston of Fargo took in the Rodeo in Sheyenne.
Raymond Nelson visited James Nelson last Sunday.
James had a telephone visit with James Thompson who lives in Colorado.
Howard and Helen Schmid visited James on Saturday.
Lester Roberts recently visited James.
Lester attended the CenDak Annual Meeting in Maddock on Tuesday.
Janice Ferry visited Lester and Jackie on Wednesday. Roger Roberts visited them on Saturday.
The Roberts’ attended Marie Bosh’s 90th birthday party on Sunday.
Howard and Helen Schmid visited Carmen Poulsen and Shirley Midstokke on Saturday.
Sunday, the Schmid’s attended church services and potluck lunch at Warsing Dam. Special music was provided by Tiffany Flats, a group from Sheyenne and New Rockford.
Last weekend, Betty Rushfeldt’s sister, Janet Bartz of Fargo visited family. Betty and Janet were joined by Sharon Rance, Everett and Gloria Rance and Fred and Luella Rance for a noon meal in Devils Lake.
Marlene Hendrickson’s annual Porch Party invitations have been sent out, but Marlene wants to clarify that the party time is NOON on July 21, not 4 p.m., as it has been in previous years.
June 17, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper Hegland met Amanda’s parents in Aberdeen, S.D. They went to Story Book Land and also took in Arts in the Park.
Fallyn and Piper spent the week with their grandma and grandpa in South Dakota while Amanda attended an Economic Development Conference in Jamestown during the week.
On Sunday, June 24, the Hegland’s returned to Jamestown and met Jill, Rosa, Emma and Silas Zietz for lunch.
Friday, Amanda, Jake, Fallyn and Piper visited with Kevin and Joan Hegland who were here from Billings, Mont.
Jake, Amanda and the girls had supper at Jarvis and Patty Hegland’s home Saturday evening.
Sunday, the Hegland’s enjoyed the rodeo in Sheyenne.
Elisa and Breana Buehler, Joe Wentz of Bismarck and Michael Pacheco of Watford City spent Father’s Day weekend at the Buehler farm.
Joel and Debbie Hjelseth of Chapin, S.C. visited the Buehler family for 10 days in June.
Anthony Bush and assistant, Corbin, and Neal Swenson also paid a visit during the Hjelseth’s time in Oberon.
Elisa and Breana returned Sunday to visit Debbie and Joel at the Buehler farm.
Nadley Buehler visited her parents and her brother’s family in the Chicago area during June. Her sister, Laurie Pranke also was visiting. The family celebrated Father’s Day and family birthdays during Nadley and Laurie’s visit. Nadley also spent time visiting old friends and neighbors in the area.
Todd and Nadley celebrated their wedding anniversary with Joel and Debbie and Mike and Sherry Boehmer in Devils Lake last Thursday. Belated anniversary wishes to Todd and Nadley.
