Notice to New Rockford residents regarding storm recovery

• About 40 percent of New Rockford has power. Otter Tail Power Company has multiple crews here to restore the power to remainder of the town. Individual homes many not have power restored to them if

their service line is damaged. We encourage everyone to check their meter box and the mast (pole attached to the meter box) for damage. It is the home owners responsibly for repairs. Call an electrician for assistance.

• The water plant is operating at normal capacity. Residents may use water as normal

• If residents are using generators, make sure they are disconnected from service lines.

• Watch out for Otter Tail and City trucks removing trees.

• All trees need to go to the city landfill east of New Rockford. City compost pile is now closed for tree debris.

Volunteers please check in at city hall for directions.

• Please allow the Utility workers to do their job.

• Tree removal and disposal are the property owner's responsibility. Please don't pile the trees on the streets.

• Landfill hours are dawn to dusk.

Safety

Treat every power line as a live wire. DO NOT touch or move any downed power lines.

At this time; there have been no injuries reported from this incident. Please be cautious in your efforts to clean and restore your properties.

Wear protective clothing, drink plenty of fluids, and make sure your tetanus shot is up to date.
