John and Janice Hager spent July 4 in New Rockford. They viewed the parade from Deb and Neal Rud’s yard.

In the afternoon, they enjoyed a cookout at the home of Taylor Cook and Dalton Weber with Ron Cook being the grill master. Other guests were Darcy and Geoff Blegen, Cambree and Grady of rural Devils Lake, Deb and Neal Rud and Bonnie Cook.

Ron and Laurie Knaust of Fargo and Beau and Bria Buehler brought supper and visited Todd and Nadley Buehler Tuesday. Later that evening, they all enjoyed a fireworks show and bonfire at Beau and Bria’s.

Hunter Buehler joined friends tubing Tuesday evening.

Todd and Nadley attended the Fourth of July parade in Sheyenne. Gary Hendrickson of Olathe, Kan., stopped by to visit Todd and Nadley Wednesday afternoon and joined them for supper on Friday.

Beau and Hunter participated in the golf tournament Friday during the All School Reunion in Maddock.

Saturday evening, Mike and Sherry Boehmer of Devils Lake joined Todd and Nadley for supper and a visit.

Lester and Jackie Roberts enjoyed the Fourth of July with Lezlee Thorson and Bob Hoffart at their campsite by the lake.

Friday, Lester was in New Rockford on business.Jackie and Lester attended the birthday party for Loren Jordre in Sheyenne on Saturday. Roger Roberts was a Sunday visitor at Lester and Jackie’s.

James Nelson enjoyed the parade in Sheyenne on July 4. He reported that there were a lot of people enjoying the parade as well as participating in it.

Jarvis Hegland visited James on Sunday afternoon.

Jim and Janice Sakry from Phoenix, Ariz., spent several days camping in Howard and Helen Schmid’s yard. They all enjoyed the parade in Sheyenne and the barbecue on the Fourth of July.

Howard and Helen attended the parade for the All School Reunion in Maddock on Saturday.

Following the parade, a dedication ceremony was held for the Veteran’s Memorial in Maddock.

Sunday, the Schmid’s traveled to Jamestown to watch grandson, Parker Schmid‘s legion baseball team play in a tournament. The team won one game and lost one.

Tuesday, Carrie Madson and Paul Prince were overnight guests at Dave and Linda Madson’s in Devils Lake.

Melodie Watt and Kennedee and McKenzee joined the group for a barbecue supper. Following the meal, all enjoyed the fireworks at the Spirit Lake Casino. Wednesday, July 4, they all attended the parade in Devils Lake.

Wednesday evening, Michael and Amy Jacobson invited Melodie and the girls and Linda to watch fireworks at Wayne and Sheila Jacobson’s home. Also there were Tommy Schwab and Michael’s sister, Cindy and her husband and their daughter, Abigail. The kids had a great time lighting sparklers and other fireworks.

Dave and Linda were supper guests at Carrie and Paul’s Thursday evening.

Friday evening, Melodie and the girls and Dave and Linda Madson were among the guests who helped Michael celebrate his birthday.

Sunday, the Madson’s attempted to attend church services at Calvary in Oberon, but there was no church due to the power outage caused by the early morning storm that caused so much damage in Sheyenne and New Rockford.

The Madson’s were treated to lunch at Carrie and Paul’s on Sunday.
