Obituary: Clarice Steele

Clarice Steele, 88, of Carrington, N.D., died July 8, 2018 in Parshall, N,D. The funeral services was Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Kvernes Lutheran Church, rural Carrington, N.D. Burial was at Edmunds Cemetery, Edmunds, N.D. Rev. Rick Loewen officiated and special music was provided by Paula Loewen and Jean Miller. Casket bearers were Kent Folden, Mark Folden, Travis Steele, Roger Lauckner, Wes Heinly, Erin Danduran and Heidi Carlson.

Clarice Eveline Bauge was born on November 26, 1929, in Jamestown, N.D., the daughter of Art and Agnes (Dennis) Bauge. She attended grade school in Edmonds and graduated from Carrington High School in 1947.

She was united in marriage to Clayton Steele on July 4, 1948, in Edmunds, N.D. They farmed around Edmunds, Carrington and New Rockford area where they raised their two children, Carolyn and Curtis.

Clarice worked several years at the Community Credit Union in New Rockford.

She was a member of Kvernes Lutheran Church, Kvernes ELCW and had been active in Nordmore Homemakers Club in her earlier years.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn; a daughter-in-law, Gail; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Clarice was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, son Curtis, and her parents.
