Nearly $2,000 raised for fireworks with Stars and Jars campaign

The New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce hopes everyone enjoyed the 2018 Fourth of July holiday here in New Rockford, especially the fireworks, which were made possible by you.

With your generous support, by either buying a star or dropping your extra coins and dollars into our jar at Miller's Fresh Foods, you helped us raise $1,263.07. With the help of 11 other businesses that sold stars or had jars, the Chamber of Commerce added $1,978.19 to the fireworks fund.

This amount does include individual donations from three "Community Firecrackers." A “shout out” to Bank Forward and their employees for their donation of $200. Another $100 came from an anonymous donor, and Suzie Wobbema at Hideaway Hair Salon contributed another $50.

With 100 percent of the money going directly towards the purchase of fireworks, we are well on our way to another fantastic Fourth of July extravaganza— You'll have to be sure to come back next year and see just how amazing your money looks!
