Obituary: Timothy Brakke

Timothy ("Tim") Duane Brakke, 37, of Grace City, N.D. died July 8, 2018. Funeral services were held July 18, 2018 at Comstock Lutheran Church, Comstock, Minn. Burial was at the Comstock Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. Jill Steichen officiated and special music was provided by Josh Miller. Casket bearers were Randy Peterson, Ronald Brakke, Wyatt Akin, Garrett Johnson, Acacia Brakke and Tyler Brakke.

Tim was born April 8, 1981 and raised in Fargo, N.D. He went to Fargo schools and later went on to receive vocational education at the Quentin Burdick Job Corps in Minot, N.D. He received certifications in Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Gas Metal Arc Welding.

Tim started working at Hardee's in Fargo at age 15. He went on to work for Burger Time, Texoma Filters, Tooz Construction Inc., Terry's Roofing, Rogers ND Elevator, SunGold Foods, Sioux Manufacturing Corp., Maria Maria Mexican Restaurant, Pizza Ranch and Casey's. In recent years, he worked at the North American Bison Coop in New Rockford and Becker Construction.

Tim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jamestown, N.D. He was baptized on January 22, 2017 and was confirmed February 5, 2017.

He is survived by his father, Ronald Brakke; his wife, Lydia Brakke; his sister, Kara Johnson (Garret); his brother, Ronald Daren Brakke (Sheri) and his eight beautiful children, Acacia, Timothy, Anna, Alerik, Timothy Jr., Lydia, Jean and Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Brakke.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Tim's life will be held in the near future. The date and time are yet to be determined.
