The National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) will also host a "Future Angler" program for children after Friday's weigh-in, approximately at 4:30 p.m., featuring an educational seminar and training for youth from top-notch NPAA members. The youth-orientated event will include a free rod/reel combo or "Future Pro" t-shirt for the first 150 children who attend the educational program.

Spend the day in and around Devils Lake and then come and watch the weigh-ins for yourself. Devils Lake is the largest natural body of water in North Dakota. Covering more than 200,000 acres, it has hundreds of miles of shoreline and grows large numbers of walleye, northern pike and white bass. The lake is now known as the "Perch Capital of the World" and has been ranked as one of the top five fishing lakes in the U.S. Devils Lake derives its name from the Native American name Miniwaukan ("Spirit Water"). Early explorers incorrectly translated the word to mean "bad spirit" and the name evolved into Devils Lake. Guide services and boat rentals are available.

The theatre is located at the Fort Totten State Historic Site, located 13 miles south of Devils Lake. Big Fish is a two-act musical based on Daniel Wallace's 1998 novel, Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions, and Tim Burton's 2003 film Big Fish. Shifting between two timelines, the story has an underlying theme to dream, love and live...bigger. Sixty-year old Edward Bloom faces his own mortality, while his son, Will, prepares to become a father himself. Their stories' timelines meet as Will discovers the secret his father never revealed.
