New Rockford and area folks extend sympathy to Leo and Janet Laube and Lois Ockert and family, as Lois' husband Lester passed away. Lois is Leo's sister. A funeral took place in Fargo Saturday and burial later that say at the Cathay cemetery. Leo and Janet were among those who attended the burial.

Wednesday Shirley Packard, Calvin Packard and Tim Hartl enjoyed a visit over dinner at the Rockford Cafe with Joe Trosky and Ruby Simms. Ruby was visiting family and friends in the area and is from Malvern, Iowa. Later Calvin and Tim were among those who attended a board meeting of the Eddy County Museum.

Jay and Heidi Schneider, Caleb and Callie treated Martin and Eloise Lucht to supper at the New Rockford Golf Club.

Ken and Marvis Holte were Thursday supper guests at the Cody and Amanda Bickett home in Carrington. The occasion being Marvis's birthday. All enjoyed over supper and a special cake. Marvis also received good wishes phone calls from her brother Cory Birkholz of Grand Forks and sisters Penny Sorrells of Minnesota and sister Ardie Yates of Arkansas.

Candy Jensen enjoyed phone chats with sons Jerrod and Derik Holte this past week.

Martin Koepplin was a Saturday visitor of his sister Charlotte Koepplin.

Shirley Packard treated Calvin Packard and Charlotte Koepplin to Sunday brunch at the Chieftain following worship service at Grace Lutheran Church in Carrington.

Joel and Denise Runge and their seven children ranging in age from five years to 24 years were weekend guests and visitors of mom, and gramma Lillian Gedrose. They are from Alexandria, Minn. All visited with Doris Wolsky at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington while here.

Candy Jensen was a visitor at the Thelma Myhre home one afternoon.

Last Friday visitors at the Candy Jensen home were Rick and Cora Koepplin and granddaughter Katie from Hillsboro. Katie was an overnight guest while Rick and Cora drove to Devils Lake Saturday and enjoyed a visit with friends they knew when they to lived in Devils Lake.

Monday brief visitor at the Shirley Packard home was Gail Klumph. Saturday Shirley took part in the city wide rummage sales having good luck in sales and give-a-ways.

Doris Leik was a visitor one day at the Lillian Gedrose home.
