Economic development group seeks citizen input for future planning

The New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation continues its strategic planning process this month with Community Conversations. After finishing up meetings with members of the business community earlier this summer, economic development officials are now focusing their efforts on community members.

The NRABC plans to host two Community Conversations. The first will be held Tuesday, August 14 at 10 a.m. in the Sarah Smith Warren Photography studio on Central Avenue. The second is an evening session scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. in the New Rockford the Eagles Club. Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend and share their insight on the needs and wants of our town. The focus of the conversation will be on how the NRABC can serve residents and families and position itself for growth in the coming years. Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be served.

In the next few weeks, the NRABC will also seek community input via a survey. Residents are encouraged to complete the survey to provide additional input.

During the NRABC’s external analysis and conversations with the business community, they had great discussion on where business leaders envisioned our community in 20 years, and what should be happening now to get to that point.

Anyone who is unable to attend one of the community conversations is welcome to reach out to NRABC Executive Director Amanda Hegland. Her office hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. or by appointment. Call her office at (701) 947-2205 or email [email protected].
