The Kicks Band of Fargo- Moorhead will perform an evening of Dixieland Band and Big Band Jazz on Thursday, Aug. 16 beginning at 5 p.m. in Hansen Arts Park, downtown Jamestown. The concert is free and for all ages.
The Kicks Band features high energy big band funk, rock and swing music of Woody Herman, John LaBarbera, Kevin Mahogany, Anita O'Day, Michael Buble, Bill Potts, Buddy Rich and more. The band educates, performs, promotes and preserves America's original art form, jazz.
Glenfield, N.D. native Tim Johnson is the music director for the 17-piece Kicks Band. Johnson graduated from Glenfield-Sutton-McHenry during the mid-1980s and is a band director for the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, Minn., schools.
