John C. Good Iron (Aabaa Ihdia Cagish – Loud Good Voice), 48, from St. Michael, N.D., passed away Aug. 9, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial was Aug. 15, in St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, N.D. Burial followed at Yellow Wolf Cemetery, rural Mandaree, N.D. Father Paul Schuster and Deacon Francis Davis officiated. Spiritual Leader was Joseph Lawrence Sr. Special music was provided by the Spirit Lake Drum Group.

John C. Good Iron was the beloved son of Delwayne "Brooks" Good Iron and Veronica (Yellow Wolf) Good Iron. He was born in Watford City, N.D., on April 25, 1970.
Good Iron attended Mandaree Public School in Mandaree, N.D., and briefly attended Standing Rock Public School. He then graduated from Four Winds High School Class of 1988 in Fort Totten, N/D. He attended the University of North Dakota and Cankdeska Cikana (Little Hoop) Community College in Fort Totten.
Good Iron worked in his early years at Sioux Manufacturing Corporation in Fort Totten, Cankdeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten, Spirit Lake Casino in St. Michael, Service Master in Devils Lake, Four Winds High School in Fort Totten, and then started his position at the Spirit Lake Ambulance as an EMS Driver.
He was married to the love of his life, Alma Lawrence.
Good Iron is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Bruno and Dorothy Good Iron; maternal grandparents, John and Thelma Yellow Wolf; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
John is survived by his loving wife Alma; daughters Johnna (Ashton) Good Iron of St. Michael, and Elisha (Mitchell) Poulsen, Sheyenne, N.D.; sons Kenneth Baker Jr., Kyle Lawrence and Douglas (Lupe) Lawrence all of St. Michael, Joseph (Marnie) Lawrence of New Rockford, N.D. and Sammy Lawrence of Carlsbad, N.M.; sister Delmaria "Joy" Good Iron of Devils Lake, N.D.; nieces; aunts; 11 grandchildren; seven adopted brothers and five adopted sisters.
